On Monday our first plane to Cuba took off. In the presence of Ralph Schiller, Richard Reindl and the Cuban ambassador, the first flight was celebrated at Munich Airport.

Since 18 March 2019, our customers are able to reach Santa Clara quickly and easily with the newly launched FTI connection from two German cities. Every Monday or from May on Wednesdays, a plane takes off from Munich to the Caribbean island. From Düsseldorf, our guests travel non-stop to Santa Clara in just under eleven hours on Fridays.

Ralph Schiller, Managing Director FTI GROUP, and Richard Reindl, Director Sales and Trademarketing, together with Cuban Ambassador Ramon Ignacio Ripoll Diaz, arrived at Germany's second-largest airport for the maiden flight. Together they opened the new route from Munich to Santa Clara with a ribbon cutting.

"We are delighted to be able to take our customers directly from Munich and Düsseldorf to Santa Clara, via which the new Cayo Santa Maria beach paradise is very easy to reach," explains Ralph Schiller. And he continues: "Our new non-stop connections to Santa Clara have got off to a good start - both machines are almost fully booked. Together with our partner Eurowings, we serve the route non-stop once a week with a modern Airbus A330-200."

Santa Clara, the city in the heart of Cuba where the Cuban revolutionary hero Ernesto Che Guevara found his last resting places, is an ideal starting point to reach Cuba's new beach paradise Cayo Santa Maria without long transfer times. In less than two hours, those seeking relaxation can reach the holiday paradise Cayo Santa Maria from the destination airport Santa Clara. Our guests will find a wide range of hotels on the kilometres of fine sandy beaches. In addition to our own LABRANDA Cayo Santa Maria, our customers can choose from numerous other hotels for a holiday: In addition to the recently opened luxury hotel Angsana Cayo Santa and the Paradisus Los Cayos, which will welcome holidaymakers from May 2019, holidaymakers will also find Iberostar, Melia and Dhawa resorts. In addition, we also offer our guests tours to the east of the island, which can be combined with a bathing extension in the island paradise.
