Seizing new opportunities: TVG Pop-Up Stores

Starting in June 2021, the franchisor will provide temporary stores with fully equipped facilities at extremely low cost. As soon as booking demand picks up, travel professionals can use them to ramp up their capacities just as much.

The lockdown still dominates everyday life in Germany. Even if the further development of the pandemic still has to be waited for an extensive re-opening, the time to be able to travel again will come. And TVG, a franchise system for roughly 270 German travel agencies with brands such as sonnenklar.TV Reisebüro or 5vorFlug Reisebüro, is convinced that it is now time to make concrete preparations for the resulting wave of bookings. The franchisor is therefore making pop-up stores available with immediate effect.

TVG pop-up stores - quickly available, environmentally friendly, smart
Designed in urban city chic, three packages - sizes S, M and L - of TVG pop-up stores in the branding of sonnenklar.TV Reisebüro or 5vorFlug Reisebüro will be available from June 2021. The furniture, from reception counters to chairs, bar stools or high tables to product walls in which screens are installed, is made exclusively of sturdy cardboard for cost and environmental reasons. This means that transport, assembly and dismantling can be carried out quickly at any time. "The S-package, which consists of a product wall with screen, two shelf elements, a reception counter, five stools and two lights, is sufficient for a shop area of about up to 30 square metres," explains Birgit Aust, Managing Director of TVG. "For shop spaces that are currently becoming vacant in prime locations now - possibly due to Corona - you can use it to sell travel overnight in a turnkey, fully-fledged office on a small budget."

The rental period of the pop-up stores is limited to three to six months, a time that Birgit Aust believes should be well sufficient for the expected wave of bookings. "Regardless of whether I already have an office and want to strengthen my capacities for the increase in demand or whether I want to take the opportunity to realise myself with my own office for the first time, the pop-up stores are an optimal way to be able to react quickly at short notice. Especially in combination with our FleXpi concept, which fits perfectly," the managing director continues.

In general, the pop-up stores will remain part of TVG's offer in the long term. They can be used for events or trade fairs or also serve as a basis for new working models. "Perhaps, for example, arrangements will arise with other shop owners who also only need their space seasonally, as is the case with many ice cream parlours," Aust reflects. "With our uncomplicated equipment concept, travel professionals could move into a stationary office here during the winter months and work digitally accessible from their second home somewhere in the world under palm trees for the rest of the year."
