FTI supports environmental initiative of Egyptian NGO "HEPCA"
With its signature on "Code Red 2.0" the tour operator supports the largest Egyptian nature conservation organisation that works to preserve the Red Sea ecosystem and protect animals at sea and on land.
With immediate effect FTI cooperates with the NGO Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conversation Association (HEPCA) and with the signing of Code Red 2.0 is now specifically committed to the preservation of the unique ecosystem of the Red Sea in order to safeguard it for future generations. For more than 25 years HEPCA has been striving to protect natural resources from destruction and has therefore started Code Red 1 & 2.0 projects to raise environmental standards for tourism facilities.
FTI, the market leader for travel to Egypt, commits itself with its signature only to work with service providers who, for example, respect the international and regional regulations on sighting, contact and handling wild animals during excursions and who comply with local regulations on waste disposal and the prevention of water pollution.
"As the tour operator who brings most German guests to Egypt we take our responsibility seriously and are happy to work with our local partners to support protecting the Red Sea and its resources and preserve its beauty," says Dietmar Gunz, Group Managing Director at FTI. "And with around one million holidaymakers in Egypt in the last fiscal year we as the FTI GROUP can really make a difference," Gunz continues. "We are sure that all our customers stand behind the initiative and support our decision."
